Training and Leadership Development Manager, south Louisiana Region (Full-Time)

The American Red Cross is seeking an experience Training and Leadership Development Manager to work in the south Louisiana region. The primary responsibilities will include developing and implementing department, service or program overall strategic goals and objectives. The finalist will be responsible for increasing Red Cross visibility through program/service delivery within the chapter’s jurisdiction and will act as a program or service subject matter expert (SME) to staff, management, volunteers and external partners. May oversee the work assignment and performance of staff and volunteers. Candidate must have BA degree or combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background, a minimum of 5 years in implementing and advancing social service programs and demonstrated experience with coordinating staff and volunteer activities. Two- to four-year supervisory experience preferred. Candidate also must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills and be able to develops project plans and participates in budget preparation. Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. May include travel.  Salary range $37,000-$40,000.

There are various opportunities for interns with the Southwest Louisiana Chapter. All internships require a minimum of 6-8 hours a week and do not include a salary. We are looking for individuals with majors in: Journalism, Mass Communications, English, Speech Communications, Disaster Sciences, Marketing, Business Administration, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Management/Human Resources.
