Seven assisted after apartment fire

The American Red Cross assisted one child and six adults Sept. 27 after an apartment fire in Lake Charles. The blaze at Building N of the Embers Apartments, 3619 Texas St., affecting three units. The fire began in the lower right unit.

Red Cross volunteers arrived on scene while firefighters were working to provide aid.

Based on the individual needs of the families involved, the Red Cross assisted the families with shelter, food, clothing and replacement medications, among other items.

The American Red Cross is doing everything we can to ensure that when anyone is affected by disaster, we are there.
